(Lam Dong online) – On the afternoon of November 17, on behalf of leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Council, Provincial People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, Mr. Tran Van Hiep – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee visited and congratulated Da Lat University and Lam Dong Medical College on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers’ Day (November 20).
Dr. Le Minh Chien – Secretary of the Party Committee, President of Dalat University and Prof. Dr. Duong Quy Sy – Secretary of the Party Committee, President of Lam Dong Medical College gave an overview of the development situation of the university in recent years.
Dalat University is a higher education institution with more than 60 years of establishment and development, so far it has affirmed its position as a strong education and research university in the region and is rising as a leading educational institution in the higher education system in Vietnam. Currently, the university has 330 lecturers, including 130 professors, associate professors and PhD., accounting for 39% of the total (average ratio of universities in the country is 32%) and most of the PhD has an average age of less than 40 years old. Dalat University currently has 41 full-time undergraduate majors; 9 master’s majors and 6 doctoral majors. The university has provided human resources for the country with tens of thousands of intellectuals in many socio-economic fields of the country, many of which are working in the fields of politics, economy and society of Lam Dong province. In addition, research tasks have gained many achievements with great influence domestically and internationally; Especially, the application results have brought many scientific and technical advances to serve the economic development of Lam Dong province…
Lam Dong Medical College also has a long history of establishment and development over the past 44 years, develop from Medical Trade School to Medical College, has trained over 60,000 health workers for the whole country, from primary to intermediate level. Currently, the school offers 5 majors; the team has 54 staff and lecturers; is one of the six schools selected by the Ministry of Health for the health workforce renewed training project. Along with that, the school invested in many equipments for training and research to maintain standards. Lam Dong Medical College is one of the medical colleges implementing the earliest regional integration in the country…

On behalf of leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, Mr. Tran Van Hiep presented flower baskets to Dalat University and Lam Dong Medical College. Also on this occasion, the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee awarded each school 50 million VND to help the school build a fund to support students with difficult circumstances in learning and research.
