(Lam Dong online) – On the morning of November 22, at Dalat University, a memorandum of understanding was signed on cooperation in education and research in the field of traditional medicine on the basis of promoting the capacity of each party and great potential in hi-tech agriculture, medicinal plants in Lam Dong province and the Central Highlands.
Attending the signing ceremony were the Vice President of Dalat University – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang; President of Daegu Haany University (Korea) – Prof. Dr. Byun Chang Hoon; Mr. Phan Van Phan – Chairman of Lam Dong Science and Technology Association; Mr. Dinh Minh Quy – Chairman of Lam Dong Business Association; Ms. Duong Thi Hanh – Chairwoman of the Founding Council of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology of Health Care and Aesthetics, Chairwoman of Lam Dong Province Women Entrepreneurs Club and the delegation members of Daegu Haany University and Dalat University.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang said: “This signing ceremony is an important milestone in promoting the effective and mutually beneficial cooperation relationship between Dalat University and Daegu Haany University, especially in promoting cooperation programs in research and teaching on biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and functional foods that are of mutual interest. Lam Dong is a land with many rare and precious medicinal species, which is an advantage for the cooperation relationship between the two universities in the near future.
Prof. Dr. Byun Chang Hoon also said, Daegu Haany University was established in 1980 as a major higher education institution in the region, focusing on nurturing talents for the local community and educating talented people with global skills, by actively adjusting the purpose and orientation of education according to the model of concentration – orientation – business – international university.
Daegu Haany University is one of Korea’s leading universities in the field of traditional medicine and is aiming to be a world-leading university in this field. The strength of the University is the field of technology, training and research in the medical field in general, traditional medicine in particular, especially in the application of the functional food and cosmetic products in Korea.
This time-focused task of the university is to train human resources, research and exchange cooperation. In 2022, Vietnam and Korea celebrate the 30th anniversary of friendly cooperation and toward comprehensive cooperation, which will be an even more favorable opportunity for Daegu Haany University and Dalat University to progress to effective and meaningful cooperation.
At the signing ceremony, Ms. Duong Thi Hanh, who acts as a bridge between the two universities, also said that she hopes that the cooperation results of the two universities will promote their potential as well as make great contributions to economic-society development of Lam Dong province. Ms. Hanh also added that she wishes to establish in Lam Dong a large-scale high-quality nursing center, in which Daegu Haany University has agreed to discuss specifically and promote it in 2023.
