On the morning of May 16, 2022, Dalat University (DLU) and Nam Long Technology Investment Group (NLT Group) held a signing ceremony to invest in a hi-tech practice room in the fields of lighting, traffic, agriculture and environment; Contract for research; and Awarded 05 scholarships of NLT Group to excellent students of the University. This is a programme in the series of activities of Dalat University to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day, May 18, with the theme “Science, technology and innovation – Accelerating the socio-economic recovery and development process.”

Attending the ceremony, there were Dr. Bui Huu Phu – Chairman of NLT Group and the delegation of NLT Group; Ms. Vo Thi Hao – Director of Lam Dong Department of Science and Technology, Member of DLU’s Board of Trustees; Prof. Dr. Duong Tan Nhut – Deputy Director of Tay Nguyen Institute, Member of DLU’s Board of Trustees; Mr. Nguyen Van Bao – Deputy General Director of Dalat Hasfarm Company, Member of DLU’s Board of Trustees. On the side of Dalat University, there were the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang – Vice president, together with experts, scientists, leaders of departments, faculties, and research institutes of the University.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang thanked the leaders of NLT Group and expressed his delight at the rapid development and depth of the relationship between the University and the Group. Starting from the Memorandum of Understanding between Dalat University and NLT Group on April 12, 2022, the signing of these contracts contributes to realising the goal of promoting educatonal activities, research, technology transfer in the fields of high-tech agriculture, environment, traffic, lighting, etc. between the two units. At the same time, Vice President Nguyen Tat Thang also wished that the relationship between the University and NLT Group would continue to be tightened and developed more comprehensively so that it could maximise the potential of the two sides.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Bui Huu Phu – Chairman of NLT Group expressed his pleasure at the signing of contracts between the two units. Mr. Phu hoped that through this signing ceremony, Dalat University would continue to work closely with NLT Group in expanding the network of cooperation in research, teaching and other research activities.

After a period of discussion, Dalat University and NLT Group agreed and signed a contract to build a high-tech practice room in the fields of lighting, traffic, agriculture, and environment with an investment of 10 billion dong. At the same time, the two sides also signed a contract to order research and transfer research results in the near future.

Also at the signing ceremony, NLT Group awarded 05 scholarships to students who achieved excellent achievements in study and research. NLT Group hopes that these scholarships will contribute to creating more motivation for students to continue to study and practice in the future.

Through the signed documents, the two sides hope to contribute to the goal of promoting high-tech agriculture in Lam Dong province, restructuring the economy, focusing on agricultural restructuring towards comprehensive and modern agriculture, developing transport infrastructure, creating breakthroughs in sustainable development in addition to the improvement and protection of the environment as well as digital transformation in management in order to achieve the goal of e-government and smart city development.
