Dalat University held “Oh Jong Ho Scholarship Awarding Ceremony”

On the afternoon of May 12, 2022, the Faculty of International Studies – Dalat University (DLU) in collaboration with Korea Foundation solemnly held the 10th Oh Jong Ho scholarship awarding ceremony for students majoring in Korean studies.

At the scholarship awarding ceremony, on the side of the guests, there was the presence of Mr. Choi Jae Jin – Chief Representative of Korea Foundation’s office in Hanoi.

On the side of Dalat University, there were Mr. Mai Minh Nhat – Vice President of Dalat University, Mr. Nguyen Canh Chuong – Deputy Head of Department of Research Affairs and International Relation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh – Vice Dean of Faculty of International Studies cum Deputy Head of the Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of International Studies, Dalat University and lecturers and students of the Faculty of International Studies.

Mr. Choi Jae Jin expressed his joyous feelings

The late Professor Oh Jong Ho started teaching at Dalat University in 2007. He had contributed significantly to the construction of a teaching system for the students and the development of Korean studies majors at Dalat University. According to the wish of the late Professor, with the desire to help and encourage students, this year the Korea Foundation Office in Vietnam on behalf of the late Professor’s family came to award 04 scholarships to students majoring in Korean studies, worth 250USD/scholarship.

At the scholarship awarding ceremony, Mr. Mai Minh Nhat expressed his joy because the relationship between Dalat University and Korea Foundation has been growing well over the years. It can be said that Oh Jong Ho scholarship has not only material meaning but also spiritual meaning for students, it is a source of motivation and pride to help students make efforts to study and practice while still in university and in the future.

Mr. Choi Jae Jin awarded scholarships to students majoring in Korean studies

Mr. Choi Jae Jin also shared his excitement and the purpose of the Oh Jong Ho scholarship awarding ceremony held by the Korea Foundation and Dalat University. First of all, it is to fulfill the wish of the late Professor Oh Jong Ho, and at the same time, it also shows Korea Foundation’s interest in the development of Dalat University as well as the study and activities of the students. He also hopes that Dalat University and Korea Foundation will continue to develop a stronger and deeper relationship in the future.

Four scholarships with a total value of 1000 USD were awarded to students majoring in Korean studies: Nguyen Le Van Chuong (the 42nd programme), Vo Thi Hanh (the 43rd programme), Pham Minh Phuong (the 44th programme), Nguyen Ngoc Ngan (the 45th programme).

Student Nguyen Le Van Chuong, on behalf of the scholarship recipients, thanked the family of the late Professor Oh Jong Ho, the Korea Foundation, and Dalat University, and promised to study harder to be worthy of the scholarship of the late Professor Oh Jong Ho as well as meeting the expectations of family and teachers.
