The opening ceremony of the 29th Postgraduate programme and the Graduation ceremony of the 26th and 27th Doctoral and Master’s programmes of Dalat University

     On the morning of May 21, 2022, Dalat University held the opening ceremony of the 29th postgraduate programme for 78 students and 02 doctoral students and the Graduation ceremony of the 26th and 27th Doctoral and Master’s programmes for 75 new master’s and 02 new doctoral graduates.

     The ceremony was attended by Dr. Le Minh Chien – Secretary of the Party Committee, President; Dr. Nguyen Van Vinh – Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang – Vice President; Dr. Mai Minh Nhat – Vice President, and former leaders of Dalat University; members of the Board of Trustees; leaders of departments and faculties, lecturers and visiting lecturers, and a large number of students and parents.

Two new doctoral graduates were awarded degrees

     Aware of the increasing standard of society for the quality of education, especially postgraduate level education, over the years, Dalat University has implemented many solutions to comprehensively improve the quality of education and considered the work of expanding the quantity and improving the quality of postgraduate education as an important task, contributing to affirming the prestige and position of the University. Currently, Dalat University has nine master’s programmes and six doctoral programmes – which is considered the leading postgraduate education institution in the Central Highlands region. Up to now, Dalat University has trained nearly 2,000 master’s students and dozens of doctoral students, contributing high-quality human resources in many fields to effectively serve the cause of industrialisation, modernisation and international integration of the Central Highlands region and the country.

     At the ceremony, two (02) new doctoral graduates were recognised and awarded degrees, including: Dr. Bui Thi Thoa, major in Vietnamese History and Dr. Huynh Phuong Thao, major in Analytical Chemistry. At the same time, 75 postgraduate students were recognised and awarded Master’s degrees, in the majors: Analytical Mathematics, Technical Physics, Analytical Chemistry, Experimental Biology, Vietnamese Literature, Business Administration, among them, there were 06 valedictorians awarded Certificates of Merit by the President of Dalat University.

     The 29th full time postgraduate programme of Dalat University has two (02) new doctoral students majoring in Technical Physics and Analytical Chemistry, along with 78 new master’s students in 09 majors. During the opening ceremony, Dalat University awarded Certificates of Merit to 07 valedictorian students of the two entrance exams.

     Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Minh Chien – President of Dalat University congratulated the new doctoral and master’s graduates and expressed his belief that, with the accumulated knowledge and skills at the postgraduate level, along with the ability to apply them effectively in practice, the new doctoral and master’s graduates will affirm their professional capacity, continue to be more successful in their careers and lives, and contribute more to society. For new students, Dr. Le Minh Chien thanked them for choosing Dalat University as a place to study and improve qualifications. At the same time, he expressed the expectation that the new students will continue to study hard, actively participate in research activities, improve knowledge and research capacity, complete the programme on schedule with the highest quality.

     On behalf of the new doctoral and master’s graduates, Dr. Bui Thi Thoa expressed her feelings and gratitude to the leaders of Dalat University and the lecturers who enthusiastically trained and guided the students to successfully complete the programme. Towards the new doctoral and master’s graduates, Ms. Bui Thi Thoa said: “We are not allowed to stop but must continue to explore, create, foster new knowledge; constantly strive to bring all our efforts, wisdom and experience in the process of studying and researching at Dalat University to apply flexibly and creatively into practice.”

     In the coming time, Dalat University will continue to innovate postgraduate management and programme, persisting in the view that quality is the top criterion. Starting from the academic year 2021 – 2022, the post-graduate education tasks will be transferred to the specialised faculties in order to further promote the active role and responsibility of the faculties in postgraduate education. The University will also continue to pay attention to improvement and adjustment of educational programmes and teaching methods towards modernity, suitable for social needs; closely link learning with learning with academic activities; simplify administrative processes and procedures in the direction of simplicity and convenience, promoting the application of information technology, aiming towards the satisfaction of students; listening to learners’ feedback; building a professional, prestigious and quality learning environment, ensuring publicity, transparency, and integrity. This is also the commitment of the leaders of Dalat University, including the departments, faculties and the teaching staff to the postgraduate education of the University.
